Open Work Permit

Unlike an employer-specific work permit, an open work permit generally allows you to work for almost any employer in Canada without first obtaining a job offer.

Open work permits are available only in specific circumstances established by Canadian immigration legislation and policy.
Examples include:

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
Spousal Open Work Permit
Bridging Open Work Permit
Vulnerable Worker Open Work Permit
Certain humanitarian programs

Eligibility requirements vary depending on the type of open work permit being requested.
